Comix Influx Blog: The Apocalypse According to Dr Zeug

by Stephen Betts (thisisstephenbetts) on 6th March 2009

Matt Madden, of 99 Ways To Tell A Story has sent me a translation of Fabio Zimbre’s mini-comic O Apocalipse segundo Dr. Zeug. As Matt says “I love this comic. Just reading the script again, its absurdity cracks me up”.

Unfortunately, at the moment we can only show a cover image if the book is available on amazon.fr, which is a bit of a limitation. In the meantime, you can see it on this page. We are hoping to get more of Zimbre’s art from the comic on the site as well, in which case I will add to this blogpost.

Thanks to Matt for the translation! On Matt’s blog, he’s just posted an English translation of a one-page comic he originally did in French for a magazine called Polystyrène. Check that out too!

"This is an obscurity but I figure a few of you old comix@ people can dig this out of your boxes. Fabio was a member of that list and that's how I first got to know him. "miniTONTOs" are a series of minicomics along the lines of L'Asso's Patte de Mouche (as a recent father I want to type Patte de Bunny instead). Fabio is one of the publishers and while there are quite a few good books in the series, this is by far the best one. I know Portuguese via a combination of Spanish and listening to lots of bossa nova and tropicalia so there are likely some innacuracies or subtle references I'm missing."
